by The TV anime Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2 will be broadcast nationwide at 28 TBS-affiliated stations from 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025. New information, such as new characters and additional cast members for the second season, has been announced.
“Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” is based on a popular manga by Aida Iro. It is currently being serialized in the monthly magazine G Fantasy and has sold over 10 million copies. The TV anime was broadcast in January 2020, and a project to restart the anime was announced for winter 2022.
The first part of the project was the broadcast of episodes 1 to 4 of the short anime “After School Hanako-kun” in October of the same year. The second part was the broadcast of the sequel to “After School Hanako-kun,” a four-episode series (a 10-minute short anime) over four weeks on TV and globally. As the third project, the TV anime “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2” will be broadcast on 28 TBS-affiliated stations nationwide from January 2025 at 4:30 pm every Sunday.
At the advance screening held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, new information, such as new characters and additional cast members for the second season, was released. Otsuka Houchu will play Kako, the first of the Seven Wonders, “The Three Clock Keepers,” and Kugimiya Rie will play Mirai.
This time, comments from the two of them regarding their appearances have arrived. In addition, “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun After School Radio, ” hosted by Ogata Megumi, who plays Hanako-kun and Tsukasa, which was broadcast during the first season, has been decided to be revived as “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2 After School Radio.” The program will welcome anime cast members as guests and talk about the charms of the anime.
The pre-broadcast #0 was live-streamed on YouTube TBS Anime Channel from 9:00 pm on Saturday, December 14. The program will be available to watch in an archive and will be released later on the internet radio station Onsen.
In addition, a unique program called “TV Anime Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2 Special Navi” will be broadcast on Sunday, January 5, the week before the first broadcast of the second season. It will feature Ogata Megumi, Kito Akari (voice of Yashiro Nene), Toki Shunichi (voice of Aoi Akane), and others.
