TOOBOE will be in charge of the opening theme for the first season of the TV anime “The Hero’s Scum,” which will begin airing nationwide on Nippon TV from January 10th, and Murasaki Kon will be in charge of the ending theme.

“The Hero’s Scum” is an anime based on a novel by Rocket Trading Company. Set in mid-21st-century Tokyo, where being a hero has become a profession known as “murder,” the story follows the freelance hero Yashiro, known as the “Grim Reaper,” and his self-proclaimed apprentice, high school girl Jogamine Aki. The anime will be broadcast nationwide over two consecutive seasons, and will be available for streaming on d Anime Store and Hulu.

The opening theme will be TOOBOE’s “GUN POWDER.” TOOBOE commented on the song, “GUN POWDER” refers to gunpowder, and we imagined a work in which a story unfolds with a small trigger. “We created a funny song about the strange fate of these characters, who have no choice but to live in a time of great distortion while being caught up in it.”

The ending theme is “Mental Rental” sung by Murasaki Kon. Murasaki Kon wrote about the song, “I created this song to show how Aki’s positive mentality influences Yashiro’s inner darkness, and how he struggles but grows as a person.” It was also revealed that Tadokoro Hinata will play Yashiro’s friend, the hero “Salt” Joe, Hirakawa Daisuke will play fellow hero “Musician” Ishino, and Takato Yasuhiro will play the unlicensed hero “Moguri” Marta.

TOOBOE Comment: We are pleased to announce that we will be performing the opening theme song for the TV anime “The Hero’s Scum.” “GUN POWDER” refers to gunpowder, and I imagined a work in which the story unfolds with a small trigger.

In addition to the trigger of injecting E3, Yashiro and his friends’ story is also triggered by conversations, encounters, and the flow of various events that lead to master-disciple and hostile relationships. In times of significant distortion, these people have no choice but to live through it, so I have written a funny song about their strange fate. I appreciate your support.

Murasaki Kon, Comment: Nice to meet you. I am Murasaki Kon, and I will be singing the ending theme for “The Hero’s Scum”. I am truly honored to be in charge of the theme song. I have created a song that depicts how Aki’s positive mentality influences Yashiro’s inner darkness, how Yashiro struggles, and how he also grows as a person. Please enjoy it along with the anime!
