The TV anime “Kikaigake no Marie” will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, Yomiuri TV, and BS Fuji starting in October. The first trailer and additional cast information have also been released.
This work is based on the comic of the same name by Akimoto Aki. It is a love comedy about Marie, a former genius martial artist with a blank expression, and Arthur, the heir to a large conglomerate. Due to unavoidable circumstances, Marie ends up serving Arthur, who hates humans, as a “robot maid,” and fulfills her duties by protecting Arthur from assassins who attack him every day.
The first trailer released shows Marie, who is secretly nervous about being discovered as human (would her life be over?), serving as Arthur’s bodyguard, as well as Arthur and the people surrounding them.
In addition, Chiaki Kobayashi and Ami Koshimizu have been announced as additional cast members. Kobayashi plays Noah, an assassin hired by Arthur’s brother-in-law, Maynard, to target Arthur, who is so powerful that he toyed with Marie. His role is that he becomes interested in Marie as he fights her for Arthur.
Regarding his appearance in this film, Kobayashi commented, “It’s a peaceful and fun story, so I think one of the attractions is that people of all ages and genders can immerse themselves in the story.” Koshimizu plays Marie 2, a real “robot maid” equipped with artificial intelligence that was created before Roy scouted Marie. Marie 2 is a killing machine even more potent than Marie, but she has high performance as a “robot maid.” Koshimizu said about the appeal of this film, “The characters are all so kind that I want to watch it forever, and I feel like I don’t want this world to end.”
Comment from Kobayashi Chiaki (Noah) – The appeal of this film is that the story of Marie and Arthur, who are not good at communicating with others in different ways, being attracted to each other, and the gags with a refreshing tempo are very remarkable.
Although the story features some dangerous characters, including assassins, it is generally peaceful and enjoyable, making it an attraction that appeals to people of all ages and genders. ・ Enthusiasm for playing Noah. I just said that it is peaceful and fun, but Noah is a character with a madness that deviates from this peaceful worldview. However, he loves Marie-chan, even though it is a twisted form, so I will do my best to show him a love for Marie-chan that is no less than Arthur’s, even though he is crazy.
Comment from Ami Koshimizu (role of Marie 2): The appeal of this work. It is a world that differs from the modern world, but there is a daily life that you can empathize with, evoking a warm sense of nostalgia. The characters are all full of kindness, and I felt like I wanted to watch it forever, and that I didn’t want the world to end. Enthusiasm for playing Marie 2 Marie 2 is a machine, but she has a heart, so I want to cherish that part. And I would be happy if I could make everyone who watches it smile!
