“The Summer When Light Died” is a youth horror work based on the manga currently being serialized in “Young Ace UP” by Mokumoku Ren. It depicts the experience of ordinary high school boys, Yoshiki and Yoshiki Tsujinaka, as they encounter various strange incidents around them while living with Hikaru, a mysterious being who imitates his childhood friend, Idou Hikaru.
The original work has been a hot topic, such as being ranked first in the men’s edition of “This Manga is Amazing! 2023”. The TV anime will be directed and composed by Takeshita Ryohei of “The Night Jellyfish Can’t Swim”, with Takahashi Yuichi as character designer and general animation director, Hiraoka Masanobu as the doro animator, and animation production by Cygames Pictures.
The cast includes Kobayashi Chiaki as Yoshiki and Umeda Shuuichirou as Hikaru. Episode 2 “Suspicion” Synopsis: As the strange death of an old woman living in the village becomes a hot topic, Maki, a classmate, says, “I might be cursed too.” She says that she had a terrifying experience when she was trying to go home through a forest road that she doesn’t usually use.
Yoshiki accepts Maki’s plea and goes to see the forest with Asako and Yuki, who had been listening to her story, and Hikaru, who showed interest… Episode 2 of the summer anime “The Summer When the Light Died,” “Suspicion,” will begin airing on Nippon TV and other networks from 24:55 on Saturday, July 12. It will also be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix and will be available for free on ABEMA.
