Girl group BLACKPINK topped the weekly fandom chart of ‘K-POP RADAR,’ a chart show dedicated to K-pop broadcast across the United States, for a whopping three weeks in a row.
The K-Pop Radar Weekly fandom chart was released on the 16th. In contrast, the K-pop-only chart program ‘K-Pop Radar’ was regularly organized as an American radio program for the first time in K-pop history.
Among them, Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ took the top spot on the K-Pop Radar Weekly fandom chart for three consecutive weeks following last week, continuing its ‘world-class movement.’
Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ music video recorded 33.07 million views during the K-Pop Radar’s September 2nd week (September 2, 2022 – September 8, 2022). It can be seen that even though it is the 3rd week, it is showing a surprising upward trend. Blackpink’s Spotify followers also increased by 84,000, demonstrating fantastic potential.
In addition, during the second week of September counting period of K-Pop Radar, Black Pink’s official Instagram followers increased by 208,000 and its official Twitter followers by 85,000, proving its popularity. Compared to the increase of about 7,200 Instagram followers and 1,500 Twitter followers of K-pop artists during the same period, it can be seen that this is a surprising number.
K-Pop Radar said, “They have been taking the top spot for three weeks in a row among the prominent candidates.”
In the TOP 10 of the weekly fandom chart announced on ‘K-Pop Radar’ this week, BTS’ ‘Yet To Come’ came in second place, and TWICE’s ‘Talk that Talk’ )’ came in third place. In addition, ONEUS’s new song ‘Same Scent’ entered 7th place at the same time as the comeback.
‘K-Pop Radar’ is broadcast throughout the United States for one hour every Thursday at 8:00 pm ET on the SiriusXM channel, the largest satellite radio in North America, along with global media company 88 Rising, and the DJ is Jamie.
The K-Pop Radar Weekly Trending Chart to be announced on ‘K-Pop Radar’ is a chart produced by K-Pop Radar (www.kpop-radar.com), a fandom data service of music startup Space Audi.
The K-Pop Radar Weekly Trending Chart is the only chart exclusively for K-Pop that is created based on data from major global platforms in line with the current situation of K-Pop, where more than 90% of it is consumed abroad. Therefore, it is expected that the chart will be a fair and transparent chart by reflecting the number of views and release date of YouTube music videos, as well as the number of fandom changes occurring on major global platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, and Spotify follower growth.
