While 2021 GamesCom, which is called one of the top three global game shows, opened on the 25th (local standard), domestic game companies targeting overseas markets are also attracting attention by releasing new information one after another. Gamescom is considered one of the world’s top three game shows, along with E3 in the US and Tokyo Game Show in Japan. It was held every year in Cologne, Germany, but it will be held only online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While many global game companies are listed as participating companies, among domestic game companies, Netmarble and Smilegate, Pearl Abyss, Com2uS, Neowiz, Some Age, etc., will participate and release new works.

Netmarble showed off a trailer video of ‘Marvel Future Revolution,’ a mobile RPG (role-playing game) released globally on the 25th. In particular, the videos for each character appearing in the launch specifications, such as Iron Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man, and Captain America, are attracting attention. Smilegate has released a video of ‘CrossFire X,’ a console work under development. Pearl Abyss drew attention by releasing a game trailer for the new game ‘Goblin’ at ‘Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL),’ the opening event of Gamescom 2021. Goblin is a ‘collectible open-world action-adventure game’ that tells the protagonist’s adventure in search of the goblin with a unique worldview. Goblin attracts attention by adding Korean elements throughout the game, including the play’s name written in pure Korean.

A remix version of the K-pop music ‘ROCKSTAR,’ Korean features such as a hanok building and Hae Tae-sang also appear. Pearl Abyss is developing work for the whole family to enjoy on console and PC platforms, and a release date is not yet known. In particular, Pearl Abyss decided to hold a separate media briefing event on the 31st, considering the industry’s high interest in the ‘Goblin.’

Com2uS also opened the game page of ‘Summoners War: Chronicle,’ a new MMORPG scheduled to be released next year, on the same day, and released a developer interview video and screenshots of actual play scenes. ‘Summoners War: Chronicle’ is based on ‘Summoners War’ IP (intellectual property rights), which has a solid fan base worldwide. It is global anticipation that you can enjoy the battle play.

Neowiz participates in Gamescom’s ‘Indie Arena Booth 2021’ with the new PC package game ‘San Butterfly.’ The Indie Arena booth is an event to introduce indie games selected by Gamescom and communicate with developers, and 114 games from 33 countries will participate this year. Cannabis is the only one in Korea to be named.

Some Age has released a play video of the new PC open-world shooting ‘CROWZ,’ which is being prepared for global release next year. The video of about 2 minutes and 50 seconds is an actual play scene, and the natural movement and lively battles like watching a movie stand out.
