In the July issue of Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine, the popular Horimiya manga will be receiving an epilogue one-shot chapter. Moreover, this particular one-shot chapter will release on July 16. What’s more, Horimiya’s final manga volume will also release on July 16. According to the magazine, the upcoming epilogue chapter will focus on Hori and Miyamura following their graduation from high school.
What’s Horimiya About?
Horimiya is a slice of life manga and anime that details the relationship between Miyamura and Hori. Hori appears to be a popular girl in her grade, hiding her true personality as a busy body. In contrast, Miyamura appears as a timid person and hides his bad-boy attributes like his tattoos. Alongside their developing relationship, Horimiya also focuses on their friends, who slowly develop as graduation gradually gets closer.
On top of that, Horimiya is an adaptation of HERO’s Hori-san to Miyamura-Kun webcomic original. Additionally, the Horimiya anime originally came out on January 9 and has recently finished airing for audiences. Although the anime adaptation has removed elements from the manga, the show has been well-received by audiences.
Recently, Horimiya also has brand new OVA’s which is based on HERO’s original webcomic. Originally released back in 2012, the fifth and sixth OVAs are continuations of previous OVAs that date back in 2012. What’s more, this adaptation’s art direction follows the simplistic drawing style seen in the original webcomic.
Horimiya’s currently finished its manga run, and the anime has also finished airing, although the series popularity continues to grow. Back in 2014, the manga was in sixth place in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics. In addition, Horimiya has also received a live-action film and tv drama which allows fans to see the series in a brand new light.
