Kookmin University’s Sociocultural Design Institute announced on the 12th that the Broadway musical ‘KPOP,’ which developed an integrated identity design with ‘Peter Nigrini Studio,’ a New York production company, is receiving a great response.

The musical “KPOP” successfully held its opening performance on the 27th of last month at the Circle in the Square Theater near Times Square, New York. This musical is the first example of Korean K-pop culture on Broadway in New York and is receiving worldwide attention from the media and audiences.

Starting with the logo design for the musical ‘KPOP’ from September 2021, the Sociocultural Design Research Institute participated in the overall visual information design development and production of the stage for the opening last month.

Established in May 2020, Kookmin University Social and Cultural Design Research Institute is an affiliated research institute established to enhance educational, social, and cultural values. He has conducted various scaled practical projects based on in-depth research, such as Hangeul Jaemin Font, Nike, and Kids Note. We plan to continue to discover global design projects that can promote Korean culture, such as the Broadway musical ‘KPOP,’ which we participated in this time.
