Since then, the series has advanced significantly and continues to provide sufficient source material in the form of manga. However, the series was embroiled in controversy recently after the publication of the most current manga chapter.
Ruby was shown kissing Aqua in Oshi no Ko Chapter 143, “Blind Follower,” as they both pretended to be Sarina Tendouji and Gorou Amamiya, respectively. Ruby’s expression of her sentiments caused the scene to soon spiral out of control and become an uninvited romantic aspect.
Soon after the chapter was published, there was a great deal of controversy and fandom division. The abrupt change in the plot shocked longtime viewers of the series, who criticized the original author and artist for furthering the inc*st goal by allowing the twins to be treated like intimates.
Since Ruby and Aqua have genuinely been thinking of each other as siblings for the previous eighteen years, the fact that they both now know about their former incarnation and have partially inherited their old selves’ traits does not excuse Ruby’s actions.
Supporters had hoped that Kana Arima would end up with Aqua, but the producers showed another kiss between the twins during filming, giving supporters even more reason to cheer. It seems that a lot of fans are outraged by this development, with most of them calling Oshi no Ko Chapter 143 the “worst chapter ever.”
Although Oshi no Ko fans are shocked and disgusted by the most recent chapter, it was clear from the beginning that the series could continue in this direction. Sadly, the fans’ worst nightmare has come true, and many have chosen to stop reading the manga because they are ill-prepared for what is to come.
