The 68-year-old actor passed away in Japan on May 17th after developing interstitial pneumonia. Hideyuki was well-known for his prominent parts in the Gundam series, including his representations of Ian Vashti in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and his appearances in Mobile Suit SD Gundam. Amazingly, he made his anime debut in 1986 with Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, which launched an incredible career.
Apart from his Gundam roles, Hideyuki gained recognition in One Piece during the Dressrosa saga by providing the voice of Diamante, a strong antagonist who sided with Doflamingo.
His flexibility was demonstrated by the numerous anime series he contributed to, including Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, and Naruto.
