The anime Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! is based on a light novel by Suzuki Makishima. It is a hybrid romantic comedy fantasy that combines everyday slow life with otherworldly action. In it, a young man named Kazuhiro, who has the mysterious ability to travel to another world in his dreams, and an elf girl named Marie, who came to modern Japan due to a particular incident, travel between their worlds. They battle monsters and conquer dungeons while enjoying Japan’s scenery and delicious food.
Episode 1 “Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!”
Kazuhiro Kitase, an ordinary office worker, has a hobby of sleeping. In his dreams, he can visit fantasy worlds, where he befriends an elf girl named Marie and enjoys adventures with her.
However, one day, he wakes up to find Marie, who he is supposed to meet only in dreams, next to him! Surprised and confused, Kazuhiro decides to show her around Japan. Marie is impressed by Japanese food and is captivated by the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Seeing her like that, Kazuhiro gently says, “Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!”
