Captivating viewers with its unique worldview!
While the broadcast of the summer 2025 anime is finally approaching, the spring anime is coming to an end. Some of the spring anime were popular with viewers, who had expectations for sequels, but the final episode was aired without any further news.
This article contains spoilers for the final episodes of ” Apocalypse Hotel “, “Catch Me at the Ballpark!”, and “WIND BREAKER season 2”. First of all, it seems that the hurdle for watching “Apocalypse Hotel” was high due to its late broadcast time. Still, it gradually gained popularity after it became available on streaming sites.
The story is set in a hotel called “Galaxy Tower” on Earth, far from humanity. It depicts the commotion caused by the hotelier robot “Yachiyo (CV: Saho Shirasagi)” and the staff and the extraterrestrial guests. In the final episode, “Tomari Iori (CV: Mikako Komatsu),” an earthling whom Yachiyo and the others have been waiting for finally visits as a guest.
However, even with the long-awaited return of the Earthlings, Yachiyo did not feel happy and was somewhat absent-minded. The reason for this was that the existence of extraterrestrial life forms had become as crucial to Yachiyo as the existence of humans on Earth.
In the end, Tomari leaves Earth after completing her investigation. Still, when she does so, she makes a promise to return without knowing when it will be fulfilled, which causes Yachiyo to explode in anger and run off the spaceship. However, Tomari mistakenly believes that Yachiyo has followed her because she is sad to say goodbye to her, and she sheds tears of emotion.
After the laughter-and-tears final episode, viewers commented, “Please tell me about the second season soon,” and “It was a mysteriously charming anime that you can’t tell if it’s a comedy or serious.” In terms of comedy works, “Catch Me at the Ballpark!” (original work by Tatsuro Suga) was also well-received as a work that can be enjoyed casually.
The series centers around the people surrounding the baseball stadium, including bettor Ruriko (voiced by Fairouz Ai) and regular salaryman Murata Kotaro (voiced by Inomata Keiji). The final episode depicts the players sending messages to the retiring coach at the fan appreciation festival after the regular season’s games, as well as the first game of the new season under a new system.
Some bettors quit, and the appearance of a new pink-haired bettor was hinted at. Viewers commented, “It was great to feel the story of the people who gather at the stadium,” and “I hope the pink-haired rookie will have a second season.” Another series, “Wind Breaker Season 2” (original work by Nii Satoru), was also announced as a live-action movie, despite the high expectations for a third season.
The story revolves around the protagonist, Sakura Haruka (voiced by Uchida Yuuma), who enrolls in the delinquent school “Fuurin High School” to become the top student but is confused by the fact that Fuurin High School has become the town’s vigilante group “Bofurin,” and grows alongside his friends.
In the final episode, Haruka learns from the school’s head, Umemiya Hajime (voiced by Nakamura Yuichi), about the feud between Endo Iya Masato (voiced by Ono Daisuke) and Takiishi Ya (voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi), who were pulling the strings behind the scenes.
The story ends as Endo and Takiishi move to destroy Bofurin. Although there are plans to adapt it into a live-action movie, the third season of the anime is meeting high expectations. Viewers are looking forward to future announcements, saying things like, “I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to the ominous shadow that casts the Bofurin,” and “I want to see the third season because it ended with a scene that makes you want to know what happens next.” The “en” in Endo Iya Masato’s name is a combination of the “wood radical + flame.”
