“The Apothecary Diaries” is based on the novel of the same name by Natsu Hinata. The story follows Nekoneko, a young pharmacist and poison taster, who uses her knowledge of poisons and medicines to solve complex cases at the Imperial Court.
The manga adaptation has been serialized in “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” and has sold over 45 million copies. The first season of the TV anime aired in October 2023, followed by the second season in January 2025.
The third season will be split into two seasons, with the first airing in October 2026 and the second in April 2027. The first movie in the series will also be released in December 2026. The free all-episode streaming of “The Apothecary Diaries” will see the first season released on December 2nd (Tue) and 3rd (Wed), and the second season released on December 7th and 8th.
All episodes will be available to watch for free for one week after release. It was an excellent opportunity to look back on Nekoneko’s brilliant mystery-solving.
