Additional cast members for the anime “Fist of the North Star ” have been revealed. Koji Yusa will play Shin, and Saori Hayami will play Yuria. The first trailer and main staff have also been announced.
“Fist of the North Star” is a manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988. Set at the end of the century, when civilization has been lost due to nuclear war and the world is dominated by violence, the story follows Kenshiro, the successor to Hokuto Shinken, as he grows into a savior, carrying both love and sorrow. It was adapted into a TV anime in 1984 and has since appeared in various media formats.
The series is showing new developments, including the announcement of a new series, “Fist of the North Star,” to be broadcast and streamed in 2026. A special stage will be held at the Tokyo Comic Con 2025 event on December 6th.
The latest information was announced at the event, revealing that Koji Yusa will play Shin and Saori Hayami will play Yuria. Shin is the heir to the Nanto Koshu Ken style of fighting. He carved seven scars into Kenshiro’s chest and forcibly took Yuria.
He organized the KING Army, continued plundering and killing, expanding his power, and building the city of Southern Cross for his beloved Yuria. Yuria was Kenshiro’s fiancĂ©e. After the world collapsed, Shin separated from Kenshiro just before they set out together in search of a haven.
Though she was given the city of Southern Cross, she continues to harbor feelings for Kenshiro, lamenting her powerlessness to stop Shin’s rampage. Character image visuals for Shin and Yuria have been released. The sharp gaze of Shin and the fragile expression of Yuria create a striking contrast. Comments from Koji Yusa and Saori Hayami were also released, expressing their enthusiasm for the new work.
The first trailer is packed with action, featuring a showdown between Kenshiro and Shin. The main staff includes director Hiroshi Maeda, series composition by Kazuhiko Inukai, and character design by Naoki Hisatsugu. TMS Entertainment will handle animation. [Yusa Koji, voice of Shin] Q1. Enthusiasm for this film: I never thought I’d be able to star in “Fist of the North Star,” a series I read as a teenager. It’s a beloved work that has been adapted into various media formats, so I’m incredibly nervous.
This time, it’s been animated in a new way, so I’m looking forward to it. I was also able to express my own impressions of “Shin” from the manga. I hope you’ll enjoy the new “Fist of the North Star” that I’ve created with my reliable co-stars. Q2. What’s your favorite line from “Fist of the North Star”? “Desire, obsession!” Q3. Your favorite character: This time, it’s Shin! Q4. My first encounter with “Fist of the North Star” was when it was still a one-off, and I was intrigued by the story’s modern setting. The series began serialization when I was a student, so I eagerly looked forward to it every week. Q5. What do you think is necessary to survive at the end of the century? First, a strong will. Then “desire and obsession” (laughs). [Saori Hayami, voice of Yuria] Q1. My enthusiasm for this work: I’m incredibly honored to be involved in “Fist of the North Star,” a series beloved worldwide. I approached the role with both nervousness and enthusiasm. I hope to express through my voice the deep kindness and love, as well as the inner strength and determination, that Yuria possesses. Please also pay attention to my interactions with each character, including Kenshiro. Q2. What’s your favorite line from “Fist of the North Star”? Yuria’s line, “If my life can bring light to this world… then send me to heaven,” was particularly memorable, especially when combined with the artwork in the original manga. Also, “You’re already dead” is a very famous line I’ve heard in many places, but I was really touched to feel like I was touching the roots of it all! Q3. My favorite character is Kenshiro. He’s firm, and despite having experienced many hardships, he still has kindness and compassion in his heart, which is really cool. Q4. My first encounter with “Fist of the North Star”: I feel like I’ve known about the series since I was old enough to understand, so my memories of my first encounter are hazy, but I do remember being exposed to the images, lines, and voices of Kenshiro and the others through the media. Getting involved in this project really helped me reconnect with the original work. Q5. What do you need to survive at the end of the century? I don’t think you can survive alone, so you need to have friends. Also, even in the harshest of circumstances, I want to keep my heart from becoming too hardened. “Fist of the North Star” is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming in 2026. In the year 199X, the world was engulfed in nuclear flames!! The seas dried up, the earth split, and all life seemed to be wiped out.
