The TV anime series “My Hero Academia” finally concluded with episode 11 (the 170th episode overall). “My Hero Academia” aired on December 13, 2025. The ending touched many fans, sparking a buzz online, calling it “the best story of all time.”
“My Hero Academia” is a hero action manga by Kohei Horikoshi serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump.” Set in a world where people possess supernatural abilities known as “Quirks,” the story follows the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he grows alongside his friends at U.A. High School, a prestigious school for training heroes.
The TV anime began airing in April 2016. The eighth and final season, “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON,” will start airing in October 2025, featuring the final battles between Deku and Tomura Shigaraki (All For One) and All Might and All For One (AFO). In the 8th episode (167th episode overall), “Izuku Midoriya: Rising,” aired on November 22, Deku finally defeated All For One, causing a considerable stir. Please note that the following text may contain spoilers for those who have not yet watched the series. Please be careful when reading.
This final episode chronicles Deku and his friends’ days leading up to graduation, their graduation ceremony, and the aftermath. Instead of becoming a pro hero, Deku becomes a teacher at U.A. High School, and the other pro heroes also make their mark. Shoji Mezou devotes himself to cases of discrimination, and Uraraka Ochako starts a quirk counseling service, contributing to society.
Meanwhile, Bakugo Katsuki’s behavior remains unchanged, distancing him from his dream of becoming the number one hero. Social media users commented, “They’re all grown up!” “They’re working hard to ensure no one else has to go through the same experiences as Toga (tears),” and “Kacchan, lol.” Seeing Deku talk about his classmates’ accomplishments, Shota Aizawa asks, “Are you lonely?” However, Deku, inspired by Aizawa’s teaching, aspires to become one himself. “If I can encourage someone through my experiences, that would be really cool,” he says.
However, his desire to become a hero and his innate heroic qualities remain. When he sees a child about to fall, he immediately runs over to support him. Deku and another boy rush out to help the child. He is preparing for high school entrance exams and wants to study in the hero department, but he worries about his weaker Quirk compared to his classmates. Deku tells him, “It’ll be okay. You tried to reach out to me earlier,” and entrusts him with his dream, saying, “You can become a hero,” just as All Might once told him. He then says, “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t lonely, but if I can encourage someone like this.
This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes,” and tries to end his history as a hero, but All Might stops him. Using the data obtained in the battle with AFO, and with the cooperation of Melissa Shield and Hatsume Akira, and with joint investment from the former Class A members led by Bakugo, they created a hero suit for Deku. Putting on the suit, Deku once again begins his story as a hero.
After the broadcast, ” #MyHeroAcademia ” became the number one trending topic on social media. Other related words, such as “Deku-kun” and “Horikoshi-sensei,” also ranked. Comments flooded in with phrases such as “It was the best story,” “I can’t stop crying,” “The afterglow is amazing,” “My Hero Academia was my origin,” and “I’m proud to have been able to see this story through to the end…” My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON
