Global K-pop idol Black Pink appeared on Japan’s representative music program and dominated the stage.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK first performed the Japanese version of the title song ‘Lovesick Girls’ of their first full-length album on TV Asahi’s ‘Music Station’ (in the future ‘MST’), which was broadcast on the afternoon of the 20th.
Lovesick Girls is a mega-hit well known globally, but the Japanese version is the first.
Before the stage, MC Tamori of ‘M ST’ and announcer Namiki Namiki introduced Blackpink as “the hottest artist in the world.”
Famous Japanese actor Takayuki Yamada and Japanese gag duo EXIT Kanechika also appeared together, saying, “I am a fan of Blackpink. It is an honor to be able to see them,” he said, praising their global influence.
Regarding the title song ‘Lovesick Girls,’ Jisoo replied, “It contains the message of pursuing love again, even though it is hard to be hurt by love.” Lisa continued, “I expressed the lyrics directly in the choreography. The point choreography of the title song is the gesture of expressing ‘love expression’ as if a headache and the movement of drawing a big heart to express longing.”
Blackpink’s interview on this day was done through a video. Blackpink members said, “It’s a pity that I couldn’t appear in person,” and said, “We plan to meet fans with better music in the future, so please look forward to it.”
Black Pink recently released ‘The Album -Japanese Version-‘ and topped the Oricon Daily Album Chart and Japan’s Apple Music Top Album Chart. The music also landed at the top of significant music charts such as Line Music and Japan’s iTunes and entered the top 10 on the Awa Chart.
