It has been announced that the TV anime ” Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days ” will begin airing on Nippon TV, BS11, and AT-X in October 2025. The key visual and the first promotional video featuring the opening theme song “POP LIFE” by FANTASTICS have been released. Additional cast members, including Atsumi Tanezaki, Yasuto Saka, Rie Takahashi, and Ryota Iwasaki, have also been announced, along with their comments.

“Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days” is a pure love comedy about an anxious girl and a boy covered in injuries, based on the manga by Yui Tamura currently being serialized in Kodansha’s Comic Days. Yoshida-san, the class representative who is a bit more anxious than most, is constantly worried about Yano-kun, who sits next to her.

Yano-kun, who has a “super unlucky constitution,” comes to school covered in injuries every day. While treating Yano, Yoshida begins to develop special feelings for him. Surrounded by their unique friends, the two gradually grow closer. Where will Yoshida’s love lead? And will Yano ever have a “normal high school life”? A live-action film directed by Shinjo Takehiko and starring Yagi Yusei was released in November 2024.

The TV anime is animated by Asiado under the direction of Matsuo Shinpei, with Amasaki Kohei ( the character for “saki” is pronounced “tatsusaki”) as Yano, aka Yano Tsuyoshi, and Nukui Yuka as Yoshida, aka Yoshida Kiyoko. The newly released key visual depicts the “ordinary yet important days” of the six main characters, centered around Yano and Yoshida, on their way home after school.

The characters’ expressions and behavior, characteristic of this work, allow viewers to sense their nuances. The first promotional video for the opening theme song “POP LIFE,” sung by FANTASTICS, the band of which Yagi, who plays Yano in the live-action film, is also a member. “POP LIFE” is a pop track with a rhythm that makes you want to step out and skip, and striking brass sounds as bright as the sun. It conveys a message of living a carefree life, embracing nature, and not being trapped by trivial worries or doubts. It’s a track that expresses the hectic yet fun-filled days of life. Anyone can enjoy this pop-inducing song and get a glimpse of the story.

FANTASTICS’ Nakajima Sota also provided a comment. Additional cast members announced include Tanezaki Atsumi, Saka Yasuto, Takahashi Rie, and Iwasaki Ryota. Tanezaki will play Yoshida’s best friend, Mei, who plays the extraordinary straight man, while Saka will play Hashiba, the same class representative and member of the baseball club as Yoshida. Takahashi will play Izumi, a fashionable, modern girl and childhood friend of Hashiba, while Iwasaki will play Tanaka, a playful class mood maker and childhood friend of Mei. Comments from each cast member have also been received.

The TV anime “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days” will air on Nippon Television, BS11, and AT-X starting in October 2025. We look forward to further updates. Nakajima Sota/FANTASTICS Following the theme song for the film, I am thrilled to be singing the opening theme for the anime “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days.” I sang this song with all my heart, hoping to bring a fun, pop feel to life in all its various scenes, from worrying to laughing, feeling my heart flutter, and feeling courageous! I think the phrase “POP LIFE” is terrific. I hope this song will have the power to blow away all your small doubts and confusion.

Along with Yano’s clumsiness and cuteness in the anime, please also pay attention to the opening theme song “POP LIFE”! Mei: Atsumi Tanezaki. Putting aside the sharp things that befall Yano, this work has a very rounded, gentle, and unique atmosphere that can only be found in this work. Personally, every dubbing session is a heartwarming fest. Yano’s best friend, Kiyoko, who worries about him, is just as compelling to keep an eye on. Before you know it, you’re “naturally watching over them.” I can’t wait for everyone to experience this feeling…! Hashiba: Yasuto Saka. Hashiba, whom I’ll be playing this time, is a clumsy but caring and kind-hearted athlete. After developing feelings for Yoshida, he begins to interact with Yano and the others.

The atmosphere of this work, from the choice of words to the characters’ expressions, is very delicate, warm, and “gentle.” Once you watch the anime, you’ll want to watch over Yano just like Yoshida. Please look forward to this heartwarming, bittersweet youth love story! Izumi: Takahashi Rie, I’m so happy to be able to take part in Yano-kun and the others’ worldview! It’s a work that will make you smile, and when you feel a bit gloomy, it’ll make you feel warm and fuzzy. Before you know it, you’ll feel like you’re part of the team. I want to have Izumi-chan’s mind and get involved in the fun and cheerful aspects of the story! Let’s have a youthful time! Tanaka: Iwasaki Ryota I’m Iwasaki Ryota, and I’ll be playing the role of Tanaka in “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days”! Tanaka is light on his feet, very energetic, and a little silly at times, but that’s what makes him soothing, and he’s like the sun that brightens up the atmosphere, so he’s one of my favorite characters! I will do my best to play the beloved Tanaka with energy and care, so please look forward to it!
