The announcement of the decision to produce an anime sequel to Mizuho Kusanagi’s ” Akatsuki no Yona ” was made in the December 19th issue of Hana to Yume, Issue 2, 2026 (Hakusensha). Announcement page for the “Akatsuki no Yona” anime sequel, published in Issue 2, 2026.
“Akatsuki no Yona” is an epic fantasy romance centered around Princess Yona, who is exiled from her country and embarks on a journey of wandering. It began serialization in Issue 17 of Hana to Yume in 2009, and this issue marked its final episode.
The TV anime aired from October 2014 to March 2015. It has also been adapted into a stage play and a musical. To commemorate the series’ conclusion, this issue includes acrylic stands of Yona and Haku. Additionally, Issue 6 of Hana to Yume, scheduled for release on February 20, 2026, will feature a spinoff of “Akatsuki no Yona.”
Additionally, a fan book commemorating the series’ conclusion will be available as an appendix, featuring an interview with Kusanagi. The regular and special editions of volume 47 will be published on the same day.
