by The BANDAI NAMCO Group announced on the 29th that it has begun developing a virtual space “Metaverse” on the Internet where fans of the popular anime “Mobile Suit Gundam” can interact. It will start on a trial basis in the fall, aiming for full-scale operation in 2025. Take in the self-made Gundam plastic model “Gundam” with a camera and incorporate functions such as fighting.
The virtual space is divided into ” colonies ” sections for each category, such as Gunpla, anime, games, and music. Fans can operate their own alter ego characters with smartphones and enjoy concerts, plays, shopping, and conversations with other fans at each colony.
In the future, we are considering the participation of companies other than the group and the provision of a place where fans can do Gundam-related business.
