‘Demon Slayer’, the first chapter of the animated film Mugenjo Arc, will be released on July 18th and shown in up to 443 theaters.

It has been revealed that the first chapter of the new movie version of the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, based on the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc, will be released on July 18. The movie version will be produced as a trilogy, and the domestic release date for the first chapter has been revealed. The first chapter will be released in 443 theaters, the most significant number yet for the film.

The IMAX version will also be released on the same day. The key visual for the first chapter has also been released. With Kamado Tanjiro, the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps, and the demons against the backdrop of Mugen Castle, the visual foreshadows the start of the final battle at Mugen Castle. It was announced during a unique program, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc: Corps Members Gathering,” streamed on YouTube on March 1.

It was also announced that a “group visual ver.” of the Mubichike card-type advance ticket using the key visual will go on sale from March 7. From April 4, seven more Mubichike designs with different character combinations will go on sale, bringing the total to eight Mubichike types, including the “group visual ver.” and a “special set” with a unique mount.

It was also announced that special editions of the Demon Slayer anime series, designed for viewing on the big screen, will be released in stages starting on April 4. The hit movie version of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba film, Mugen Train, which was released in October 2020, will be shown again in 423 cinemas starting May 9.

The story of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is about Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was killed by demons, joining the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a demon, back into a human. The original was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 150 million.

The TV anime “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc” was broadcast from April to September 2019, and the movie version “Mugen Train Arc” released in October 2020 was a huge hit, grossing approximately 40 billion yen, the highest-ever box office revenue in Japan. The “Entertainment District Arc” was broadcast from December 2021 to February 2022, the “Swordsmith Village Arc” from April to June 2023, and the “Hashira Training Arc” from May to June 2024.
