by The lineup for the “World Trends” project of the “3rd Niigata International Animation Film Festival” has been announced.
“World Trends” introduces trends in animation through domestic and international film screenings and talk shows with guests. This year, there are four themes: “Winds of Asia,” “War and Peace,” “Current Rotoscoping,” and “Niigata and Animation.”
Director Tatsuyuki Nagai, a Niigata native known for his “Chichibu Trilogy,” will appear on stage with the screening of “Her Blue Sky.” “Let Me Hear Your Song,” set in Niigata and Sado, will also be screened with a stage greeting from director Yasuhiro Yoshiura and sound director Miwa Iwanami.
Other works featured in the “War and Peace” theme include “In This Corner (and Other Corners) of the World,” and “Current Rotoscoping” will feature “Music” and “The Case of Hana and Alice.” Check the list at the end of the article for the full lineup. The “3rd Niigata International Animation Film Festival” will be held in Niigata City from March 15th to 20th.
This film festival focuses on feature-length animation and will feature a competition between domestic and international feature films and screening programs with guest speakers.
