DISH// held a one-man live “DISH//SUMMER AMUSEMENT ’22 -PLANET-” at Fujikyu Highland Conifer Forest in Yamanashi on August 27.
Since the first event in 2019, DISH//’s conifer forest performance has become an annual event every summer. Following the previous year’s title of “DISH//SUMMER AMUSEMENT ’21 -Shinrabansho-“, this time DISH// has added the magnificent word “PLANET” to the title that surpasses the universe on earth. Upon stepping into the venue, Thrasher (as DISH// fans call him) sees a two-tiered stage where the walls are covered with LED screens. While the crowd of thrashers gathered were excited about the upcoming “space travel,” the opening of the life resounded with “Zarathustra,” the central theme of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Talk it out.”
The image of the earth running at the speed of light projected on the full-screen LED vision captures the world and focuses on the conifer forest at the foot of Mt. ), Masaki Yabe (Cho, G), Hiiragi Tachibana (D.J., Key), and Daichi Izumi (Dr).
The first song they chose was the loud rock number “Shout it out,” which is also the theme song for the Japanese dubbed version of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” which depicts the activities of the “extraterrestrial” Venom.”. While images of black holes, meteor showers, solar flares, etc. amplify the sense of scale, the four overwhelm the audience with a roaring sound from the beginning.
Tachibana and Izumi’s rap exchange accelerated the momentum of “rockin’ roller,” and “FLAME” was mesmerizing with Yabe’s technical guitar solo incorporating right hands against the background of burning wilderness images. Four people keep throwing and raising the gear. In “JUMPer,” where Tachibana held the shoulder keyboard and jumped to the forefront of the stage, Thrasher jumped up and down, creating a big swell in the audience.
At the first MC, Kitamura said, “This is the first Conifer where it hasn’t rained! It’s a historic moment. So this is it, outdoors!” And he said to Yabe, “The sun is in a good mood, so let’s play a nostalgic song. Huh? Masaki.” What was played here was the love song “Boku no Taiyo,” written by Yabe six years ago.
The audience listened attentively to the pure and straight thoughts Kitamura delivered on a comfortable breeze. Kitamura wrote the lyrics, and Izumi composed the music for “Arinomanma ga Itoshii Kimi e.” let out By the time the blockbuster song “Cat” was delivered, dusk was approaching.
“Welcome to my spaceship!” welcomed the audience once again. Here, he talked about his thoughts on the new song “Holding a wrinkled cloud.” Kitamura revealed that this song, written by Kitamura and composed by Izumi, is a series of songs written by the same duo, “Ari no manma ga dear you.” However, this is an “it’s okay” for myself and everyone.
I don’t know what will happen every day, but if I can give you the feeling that it’s okay to draw,” he said, expressing his creative thoughts. After those words were played, unicorn-colored clouds appeared in the LED vision, and Kitamura sang a warm message on the light band sound.
A spaceship full of sci-fi appears in the vision when it develops to “FLASHBACK,” where the electronic sound spreads like switching the soft mood. While the two-stage stage configuration creates a different sense of distance than usual, the four people make a thick sound with a dense ensemble. In “HIGH-VOLTAGE DANCER,” Kitamura and Yabe fascinated Thrasher with an energetic performance that decided a vivid turn while strumming the guitar. Meanwhile, what surprised the gathered slashers was the scene where Kitamura and Izumi’s duo delivered the floating city pop “Uchusen.” Kitamura, who jumped out off the stage with this song, rode a bicycle with Gray (an alien) in the front basket and ran through the audience aisles.
The members on stage and the slasher were chasing after the vocalist, who showed a charming appearance like the young Elliott of “E.T.”
The rain that began to fall during the song “Uchusen” gradually became more robust, and by the time Kitamura returned to the stage, it was raining heavily. Looking up at the sky, Kitamura shouted, “Is it raining!?” While a vinyl tent was being carried onto the stage to protect them from the rain, the four talked about the theme of “summer memories.” “I want to do fireworks! I want to do it alone while being watched by a large group of people,” said Tachibana. Invited. “Oto Hanabi,” written and composed by Tachibana, was delivered along with modern production. Kitamura and Tachibana performed an excellent rap relay while walking on the stage and the runway.
In “DAWN,” which was delivered in the conifer forest where the heavy rain was hitting, and the slightly cloudy sky was turning into dusk, Kitamura stepped from the main stage to the leading edge of the hanamachi and said, “Sure, there are rainy days. Nah!” and caught the rain with my whole body. Then, as if raising the tension of the audience and themselves, the four immersed themselves in the performance “To those who seize the stars,” Tachibana also jumped to the forefront and exploded with a sharp rap with Kitamura’s “B-.” BOY”, Yabe’s passion finally exploded in “NOT FLUNKY.” Putting down his guitar, he said, “It’s my time!” and rushed down the runway. He sang freely and ran across the stage, showing the excitement of Thrasher with enough tension to repel the rain.
When the four of them performed their solos in perfect harmony, they rushed into the upper tune “Seagull,” which is indispensable for their live performances. Then, Kitamura shouted, “Dance, dance!” released to Yabe also sang, “I’ll make my heart dance to the surging slashers!”
“It’s raining.” Before the last song, Kitamura let his shoulders drop and muttered. “Is there anyone who came to Conifer for the first time? It rains every year,” he explained. It’s a life, and in just a few hours, I felt that many things could happen.” I feel like I’m stuck in this life today,” he said. “No matter the situation in this place, enjoy it and be honest with yourself. Putting such feelings into the song and performance of “Replay” and delivering it to the audience, Kitamura left the stage saying, “Thank you. Let’s have fun together next year and the year after.”
The rain stopped while Thrasher waited for “refills” with enthusiastic applause, and the vinyl tent to protect the stage was removed. The four reappeared in front of the fans and restarted the live performance with “Thank you for loving me.” Kitamura and Yabe’s vocals inspire the audience with “No.1,” written as the opening theme for the anime “My Hero Academia.” “Aren’t we still dancing enough? Let’s dance!” With their overwhelmingly passionate performances, the four created a frenzy in which the slasher and the aliens in the LED vision danced together and ran through the three encore songs in one fell swoop.
After finishing the song, Kitamura said, “When it rained, and the tent came out, my heart was broken. Even so, everyone with great passion and the staff was there. So, in the end, I could perform live in a state where everyone could see. I’m glad,” he said with a relieved smile. Here, Kitamura announced that the song “DAWN (in 2022)”, which will be distributed on September 1, has been decided as the official theme song for the Japan national soccer team’s support project “SAMURAI BLUE New Scenery 2022″, making this big news. Both members and fans were excited and shared the joy. This year’s Conifer Forest performance came to an end as fireworks illuminated the night sky after the rain came to an end. Let’s think about it!” joking and waving to the fans repeatedly while laughing.
