Enako to Sing the Opening Theme and Voice Nene Haneshita in Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love Anime

Spread the love

The upcoming romantic comedy anime Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love has revealed an exciting new update ahead of its January 2027 premiere. Popular cosplayer and entertainer Enako will perform the series’ opening theme song, titled “Gō Yoku Koi o Seisu!?”, and will also make her voice-acting appearance as the character Nene Haneshita.

The announcement was accompanied by the release of the anime’s main promotional video (PV), which offers viewers their first extended preview of the series and its opening theme. The new footage also introduces the voices of several previously announced supporting characters, giving fans a better idea of the show’s atmosphere and character dynamics.

With its unusual combination of a brilliant young police inspector, an awkward detective, and a secret pretend relationship, the series is shaping up to be an interesting addition to the January 2027 anime lineup.

Enako Takes on Two Roles in the Upcoming Anime

The announcement was made on October 31, 2026, during a special ceremony at Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2026 in Tokyo.

Enako will be involved in the anime in two different capacities. First, she will sing the opening theme, “Gō Yoku Koi o Seisu!?” Second, she will join the voice cast as Nene Haneshita, a nurse who works at the police station’s infirmary.

This dual role is a notable addition to the production. Enako is widely recognised for her work as a cosplayer and entertainer, and her activities also include magazine appearances, television, commercials, and live events. Her participation gives the anime an additional promotional highlight, while allowing viewers to hear her perform both as the opening vocalist and as one of the characters.

The production has also released a character visual for Nene, introducing her as one of the supporting personalities in the story.

“Gō Yoku Koi o Seisu!?” – A Catchy Opening Theme About Love

The opening theme song is titled “Gō Yoku Koi o Seisu!?” (剛よく恋を制す!?), performed by Enako. Yashikin is responsible for the song’s lyrics, composition, and arrangement.

The track is featured in the newly released main PV, giving viewers their first opportunity to hear the song alongside footage from the anime.

Its energetic and fast-paced musical style fits the romantic comedy’s central premise. The story follows Rinna Isshiki, a highly capable police inspector who is accustomed to approaching problems logically. However, when she experiences the unfamiliar emotions associated with love, her usual confidence begins to falter.

The opening theme reflects this contrast between Rinna’s serious personality and her confusion about romance. Rather than presenting love as something she already understands, the song connects with the excitement and uncertainty of experiencing it for the first time.

Yashikin’s involvement in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement also means that the song’s musical direction is handled by a single creator. The official music page confirms Enako as the vocalist and Yashikin’s three songwriting and production credits.

Main Promotional Video Reveals More Character Voices

Alongside the opening theme announcement, the production released the anime’s main promotional video. The trailer provides a closer look at the characters and introduces several supporting-character voices that had not previously been heard in the promotional material.

The newly revealed voices belong to four characters:

  • Danjuro Iwata – Haruki Ishiya
  • Masato Nakatani – Takuma Nagatsuka
  • Chikai Matsumoto – Hiiro Ishibashi
  • Rena Yamakawa – Yu Wakui

These four cast members had already been announced in September 2026, but the new PV marks the first time their character voices have been presented in the promotional footage.

The trailer also features Enako’s opening theme, allowing viewers to experience the music and character performances together. This is an important step in introducing the anime’s overall tone before its television broadcast.

For viewers unfamiliar with the original manga, the PV offers a useful introduction to the series’ mix of police-related situations, character interactions,s and romantic comedy.

Who Is Nene Haneshita? Enako’s Character Explained

Enako will voice Nene Haneshita, a gentle and easygoing woman who works in the police station’s infirmary.

Nene is known for her relaxed personality and natural charm. Despite her laid-back attitude, she is secretly one of the most popular people at the station. However, she has an excellent ability to ignore romantic advances and avoid unwanted attention without creating unnecessary conflict.

Her private life also appears to contain several mysteries. Although she does not reveal much about herself, she seems to have a particularly friendly relationship with Rena Yamakawa, who is around the same age.

Nene’s personality provides a contrast to the more serious and disciplined atmosphere surrounding the police investigation team. Her calm attitude and ability to handle attention in her own way could make her an entertaining supporting character.

It will also be interesting to hear how Enako approaches the role. Since she is participating as both a singer and a voice actress, fans will have two opportunities to experience her contribution to the series.

What Is Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love About?

Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love (Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai.) is a romantic comedy based on the manga by Ayune Araragi, which is serialized in KADOKAWA’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine.

The story follows Rinna Isshiki Milford, an exceptionally intelligent young woman who has achieved an extraordinary academic and professional record. After graduating at the top of her university class through an accelerated education programme, she moves to Japan and becomes a police inspector at just 17 years old.

Rinna is calm, disciplined, ed and highly capable. Her intelligence and serious attitude have earned her the nickname “Steel Rinna” among those around her. She is accustomed to solving difficult problems through careful thinking and logical decisions.

However, there is one problem she cannot seem to solve: her feelings.

Whenever she spends time with Meishi Rokutanda, a detective who cooperates with her investigations, she experiences an unfamiliar nervousness. Her heart starts racing, and she finds herself behaving in ways that are completely unlike her usual composed self.

Meishi is not a particularly polished detective. He is often described as a clumsy or bumbling investigator, which makes him an amusing contrast to Rinna’s highly disciplined personality.

After noticing Rinna’s unusual reactions, Meishi makes an unexpected suggestion: the two should try dating.

Rinna agrees to enter a secret pseudo-relationship with him so that she can investigate the strange feelings she has been experiencing. In other words, she approaches her first love almost as if it were another difficult police case.

The central humour comes from the fact that both characters are inexperienced when it comes to romance. Although they are trying to understand what it means to be a couple, neither of them has a clear idea of how love works.

Their unusual arrangement creates opportunities for awkward conversations, misunderstandings, and sweet romantic moments. As they spend more time together, the two begin to discover more about their feelings and about each other.

This combination of a police-themed premise and an inexperienced couple gives the series its distinctive identity. Rather than following a conventional romance in which both characters immediately understand their attraction, it explores the process of recognising and accepting unfamiliar emotions.

With the main PV now available, the opening theme revealed, ed and Enako joining the voice cast, the anime’s promotional campaign is beginning to build momentum ahead of its January debut.

The announcement of Enako as both the opening theme singer and the voice of Nene Haneshita gives Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love another interesting talking point ahead of its January 2027 premiere.

The series already has an unusual romantic premise: a brilliant 17-year-old police inspector who can handle complicated investigations but struggles to understand her own romantic feelings, and a clumsy detective who suggests that they try a pretend relationship.
