The Guinness World Record for the most demanded animated TV series in 2023 has been broken by Gege Akutami and MAPPA’s Jujutsu Kaisen anime series.

Guinness World Records and data science company Parrot Analytics both claim that Jujutsu Kaisen’s global demand rating was 71.2 times greater than that of the typical TV program.

Parrot Analytics calculates demand by taking into account the amount of time, attention, interaction, and viewership that users show for a piece of content.

In 2023, Jujutsu Kaisen became the most in-demand animated TV series according to Guinness World Records, surpassing previous popular shonen anime.
To take the top spot in the rankings, the anime defeated formidable rivals, including One Piece and Attack on Titan.

Due to a spike in interest toward the end of the year brought on by the release of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen emerged victorious in 2023.

Demand for the series surged to 128 times higher than typical for the conclusion on December 29, 2023, marking the series’ peak.

In 2022, JJK overtook Attack on Titan, another MAPPA title, as the world’s most-watched animated television program. Global demand for AoT was 68.2 times larger than that of the typical TV program.

The popular Japanese manga series Jujutsu Kaisen is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. October 2020 saw the premiere of the anime adaptation.

The narrative centers on Yuji Itadori, a high school kid with extraordinary physical prowess who, in trying to save his classmates by ingesting a potent cursed relic, gets entangled in the world of sorcerers, curses, and jujutsu.

In order to train as a jujutsu sorcerer and defend people from curses, he enrols in Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College.

The series has won multiple accolades, including Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2022 and 2024, in addition to breaking the global record.

With a box office triumph, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 became the fifth most-grossing anime film in the United States and the ninth highest-grossing anime film globally.

An annual reference book called Guinness World Records covers world records for both natural extremes and human accomplishments. It includes a broad range of topics, such as sports, entertainment, science, technology, and extraordinary human achievements.
