It has been revealed that the fourth series of the TV anime “Kingdom” based on Yasuhisa Hara’s popular manga will be produced and will be broadcast in the spring of 2022. The final episode of the 3rd series, Episode 26, “Another Road,” was broadcast on NHK General TV at midnight on October 17, and the production of the 4th series was announced at the end of the program.

A teaser visual depicting the younger brother, Chengjiao, was also released. Chengjiao stands with a fearless smile and is accompanied by the message, “Next is my turn.”

“Kingdom” is a popular manga serialized in “Weekly Young Jump” (Shueisha) since 2006. Set in China’s Spring and Autumn Warring States period, it depicts the success of Shin, who aims to become a general in the world, and the drama of heroes such as Qin Shi Huang and Eimasa, who later became known as the Emperor Qin Shi Huang. A live-action movie starring Kento Yamazaki was released in 2019.

The first series of TV animation was broadcast from June 2012 to February 2013, and the second series was broadcast from June 2013 to March 2014. The third series started broadcasting on NHK General TV in April.
