It has been decided that “MF Ghost,” which is the successor to the monumental “Initial D” of the public road race manga by Shuichi Shigeno, will be made into a TV animation in 2023. A special promotion video and a teaser visual have also been released.

The original has been serialized in “Young Magazine” (published by Kodansha) since 2017. The cumulative circulation of books exceeds 3.2 million. It depicts the fierce battle of the legal public road race “MFG,” which is gaining popularity worldwide, set in Japan in 202X AD when many years have passed since “Initial D” and automatic driving of cars became widespread. Driver Kanata Rivington, who graduated from a racing school in the UK and returned to Japan to fulfill a particular purpose, challenges MFG where the fastest machines such as Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini gather.

In the unique news PV, rival cars such as “TOYOTA 86” on which Kanata rides, “Lamborghini his uracan” and “Ferrari 488 GTB” are drawn in 3DCG. The engine sound and running sound are raw sounds recorded using an existing vehicle, and the same method will be adopted for recording the sound effects of the main story.

The teaser visual depicts a tense scene of a race battle, with the “Alpine A110S” and “GT-R” approaching behind the “TOYOTA 86” that runs at full speed on public roads.
