To commemorate the June 27th release of the movie version of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, an anime adaptation of the manga by Cool Kyoushinsha, a collaborative illustration by the original author, Cool Kyoushinsha, and the anime’s character designer, Kadowaki Miku, has been released.
Kanna, Kobayashi, Tohru, and Ilulu, as drawn by Cool Kyoushinsha, and Kimun Kamui and Azard, as drawn by Kadowaki, are glaring at each other, making it seem as if a battle is about to break out.
Additional cast members were also announced, including Shinya Takahashi as the old man fairy and Azusa Tadokoro as the fairy girl. The old man fairy and the fairy girl also appeared in the second season of the TV anime.
The movie version will be produced by Kyoto Animation, just like the TV anime. It will be directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who helmed the second season of the TV anime “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S.” This marks the first time a movie version of the work has been produced.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid began serialization in Monthly Action (Futabasha) in 2013 and is currently being serialized in Manga Action (same publisher).
The story follows Tohru, a dragon girl who lives with Kobayashi, a female office worker, as her maid, as she struggles to help Kobayashi while causing all sorts of trouble. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to April 2017, and the second season aired from July to September 2021.
