Variety reports that it has been revealed that the new animated series in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse series, The Spider Within,” will be released for free on YouTube. Speaking of Spider-Man and His Spider-Verse is a new animated series that takes place in the multiverse and revolves around Miles Morales, a boy who inherited Peter Parker’s legacy.
The first film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” released in 2018, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and the second film, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” was also nominated for an Academy Award. The third installment, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was initially scheduled for March 29, 2024, but was postponed due to last year’s strike. A new release date has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that a new anime in the same series, “The Spider Within” (original title), will be released on YouTube.
The film is a short animation that premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival last year. It is based on the inner conflict that the main character, Miles Morales, faces. It was created as part of Sony’s LENS mentorship program, launched in 2022, to support the growth of young creators. “The Spider Within” will be released on March 27 on Sony Picture Animation’s YouTube channel.
