The “summer visual” and second promotional video for the TV anime “Kashiwada-san, who doesn’t show her face, and Ota-kun, who shows her face,” based on the original work by Azuma Fuyu, have been released. The anime will air on TOKYO MX and other channels starting October 4.

Ota-kun, Tadokoro-kun, Sada-kun, Tabuchi-san, and Odajima-san are seen gathered around Kashiwada-san, expressing the importance of having friends. Official X is running a giveaway campaign for a poster featuring the same visual and signed by the cast.

The promotional video begins with a scene of Kashiwada-san and Ota-kun cleaning the pool. It also includes scenes of the two spending time together and the appearance of their classmates.

The opening theme will be Hashimelo’s “Hyakumenso,” and the ending theme will be Marchen Phantasia’s “Amanojaku Hero.” The promotional video includes excerpts of the songs. On October 7, the radio program “Ota, Tadokoro, and Sada’s After-School Radio” will be broadcast.

The primary hosts are Natsume Kyohei as Ota, Hirose Yuya as Tadokoro, and Horikane Sohei as Sada. They engage in friendly conversations, as if friends were gathering after school. In addition to being streamed on the internet radio distribution site HiBiKi Radio Station, the program will also be streamed online on the “NBCUniversal Anime/Music” channel.

“Kashiwada-san, who doesn’t show her feelings, and Ota-kun, who shows her feelings,” is a heartwarming love comedy about two junior high school students, Kashiwada-san and his classmate Ota-kun. Fujita Akane will play Kashiwada-san.

Hashimero’s Comment I’m Hashimero, and I’ll be performing the opening theme for “Kashiwada-san, who doesn’t show her feelings, and Ota-kun, who shows her feelings”! The song I wrote for this album, “Hyakumenso,” is my own portrayal of the love story between two characters who are opposites. I chose the title after imagining Ota-kun’s ever-changing expressions. Youth passes by in the blink of an eye, leaving little time to catch a breath, so this song also has a sound that feels like it’s racing along from start to finish. It’s packed with sparkling emotions, so I hope you enjoy it along with the anime! Comment from Mia (March in Phantasia): I read the original manga, my heart fluttering sweetly as I thought about the pure distance between Kashiwada-san and Ota-kun, who want to get closer but can’t. I wrote this song to express the girlish heart that says, “He always does mean things to me, but I know he’s really kind, hehe,” as well as the happiness of sharing the same feelings as the person you love.

I hope everyone will love “Contrary Hero” along with the anime! “Ota, Tadokoro, and Sada’s Face-to-Face After-School Radio” (six episodes planned) Broadcast date: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM Broadcast: Hibiki – HiBiKi Radio Station -, YouTube “NBCUniversal Anime/Music” channel Starring: Kyohei Natsume, Yuya Hirose, Sohei Horigane TV anime “The Secret Kashiwada and the Face-to-Face Ota” TOKYO MX: Starting Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9:00 PM Kansai TV: Starting Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 2:52 AM First episode from 1:25 AM BS11: Starting Monday, October 6, 2025, from 11:00 PM AT-X: Starting Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 9:30 PM Repeat broadcasts every Thursday from 9:30 AM, every Monday from 3:30 PM
