Developer Paper Castle Games and publisher Fellow Traveler have released.
This turn-based RPG features graphics inspired by anime series such as “Dragon Ball Z,” ” Cowboy Bebop,” and ” Sailor Moon .” The story spans 10 episodes, featuring Ringo, a young martial artist searching for his brother, and Wolf, a mysterious outlaw trying to escape his past, as they journey through space in search of fragments of a legendary map.
Each episode is approximately 60-90 minutes long and features side content such as procedurally generated battles and events. Players will encounter unique characters, including space pirates, delinquents, and talking crows, and sometimes become allies as they continue their adventure. Battles are played out using a unique system that combines over 200 “words.”
These include action words like ‘kick’ and ‘block’, as well as item and power-up words like ‘cooldown reduction’ and ‘area-of-effect attacks’, and attribute words like ‘fire’ and ‘water’. Players will need to be able to identify enemy behavior patterns and weaknesses and combine words accordingly. “Wander Stars” is available for PC and overseas consoles (Steam, GOG.com, Humble Bundle) and overseas for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It costs 3,520 yen/24.99 dollars. At the time of writing, the game is only available in English.
