To commemorate the resumption of the broadcast of the Egghead arc of the TV anime “ONE PIECE,” a pop-up shop will be revived at two stores, Daimaru Tokyo and Daimaru Umeda. Many new design items will be available.
“ONE PIECE” is a hit comic that represents Japan. It was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” by Eiichiro Oda in 1997 and has a total circulation of over 500 million copies worldwide. It is a story about the epic adventure of the pirate “Straw Hat Pirates” led by the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, in search of the “One Piece,” the fabulous treasure left behind by the legendary “Pirate King” Gol D. Roger.
The TV anime began broadcasting in 1999 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2024. The Egghead arc of the TV anime, which had been on a break, will air a special edition and the first episode since its return, episode 1123, “The World Shocks! The Straw Hat Crew Barrier Incident,” on April 5th.
The second episode since its return, episode 1124, “Full-Scale Surrounding! The Egghead Escape Plan,” will air the following day, the 6th, at a new time of 11:15 pm. This time, apparel and lifestyle goods that incorporate designs of Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew and their worldview will be released.
The pop-up shop “ONE PIECE EGGHEAD EDITION×DAIMARU MATSUZAKAYA” will be held at the Daimaru Tokyo store and the Daimaru Umeda store and will feature re-releases of Egghead arc items as well as new items featuring characters from the latest chapter.
The lineup includes the “EGGHEAD EDITION ver.1.5 T-shirt” with the main visual of the Egghead arc, the “Bag Charm” designed with the image of each member of the Straw Hat Crew, the “EGGHEAD EDITION ver.1.5 Pins” trading pin badges expressed in pixel art, and the “Game Shirt long-sleeve” game shirt with the team name “Punk Records.”
The T-shirts are also worth checking out. They are full of personality, including the “Monkey.D.Luffy T-shirt” that incorporates Egghead’s futuristic and cyber worldview, the “Vintage T-shirt ver.2” with the main visual of the Egghead arc, and the “TonyTony.Chopper T-shirt” with Chopper’s impressive typography printed on the back.
The pop-up shop will be open at Daimaru Tokyo (10th-floor CALTLA STORE) from April 23rd and at Daimaru Umeda (1st-floor event space) from May 21st. Items will also be sold at the official online store. There will also be a novelty campaign where original design “stickers” will be distributed to customers who purchase over 3,300 yen (tax included) at the pop-up shop or online store.
