The 15th episode of the utterly new anime adaptation of Takahashi Rumiko’s hit manga “Ranma 1/2,” “Fire in the Sky, Sweet Chestnut Fist,” will be broadcast on Nippon Television at 12:55 a.m. on October 18th.
Ranma’s body has become sensitive to heat after Colon presses on the pressure points that cause him to have a sensitive tongue. To cure his sensitive tongue, he needs the Phoenix Pill that Colon has. To obtain the Phoenix Pill, he must master the legendary divine fist, the Fire-Chu Tenjin Sweet Chestnut Fist. Ranma struggles with the heat of the fire, but gets a hint from goldfish scooping and challenges Colon to a fight.
“Ranma ½” was serialized in the manga magazine “Weekly Shonen Sunday” (Shogakukan) from 1987 to 1996 by Takahashi, who is also known for “Urusei Yatsura” and “Maison Ikkoku.”
The series depicts the hectic daily life of high school martial artist Ranma Saotome, who turns into a woman when splashed with water, and his fiancée, Akane Tendo. While training in the indiscriminate fighting style with his father, Genma, Ranma develops a unique condition in the Chinese town of Jusenkyo that causes him to transform into a woman when splashed with water and revert to a man when splashed with hot water. Upon returning to Japan, Ranma and his son end up staying with Genma’s best friend, Soun Tendo, and by chance, he becomes engaged to Soun’s daughter, Akane.
Takahashi, known for works such as ” Maison Ikkoku,” serialized the manga in the manga magazine “Weekly Shonen Sunday” (Shogakukan) from 1987 to 1996.
