The second season of the TV anime “YAIBA: Legend of the Samurai” has been confirmed. New visuals and promotional videos have been revealed, along with comments from
Legend of the Samurai” This work is based on the manga “YAIBA,” serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1988 to 1993 by Gosho Aoyama, the creator of “Detective Conan” and “Magic Kaito.” It follows the action-packed story of Kuroganeyaiba, a wild samurai who trained in the jungle, returning to Japan and seeking greater strength in a new training ground. The TV anime began airing on April 5.
The final episode of the first season, “Invaders from the Moon,” aired on September 27. In the final episode, a giant ship suddenly appears in the sky. From the boat emerges Kaguya, the ruler of the moon, who has awakened from a thousand-year slumber. To confront Kaguya and save Japan, Yaiba resolves to become the greatest samurai in the world.
Meanwhile, Onimaru is plotting world domination.
The visual announcing the second season, created by character designer and animation director Yoshitoshi Kameda, depicts this three-way battle. It depicts Yaiba wielding the Raijin Sword, Kaguya sporting a seductive smile, and Onimaru glaring piercingly. The trailer announcing the second season shows Yaiba and Onimaru staring in awe at Kaguya, the ruler of the moon. We also see Sayaka and Musashi riding Shonosuke, as well as Kaguya’s aide, Tsukikage.
The story builds anticipation as Kaguya, who boasts she will become the queen of the Earth, reveals her true identity, and the story of a thousand-year-old feud begins to unfold once again. Comments from Ami Koshimizu, who voices Kaguya, and Kouki Uchiyama, who voices Tsukikage, have also been released. Koshimizu said, “I’m happy to be involved in a series I watched as a child, but at the same time, I feel pressure,” while Uchiyama commented, “I participated in the dubbing while keeping in mind the image of the character as portrayed in the original work.”
The full comments are below [Koshimizu Ami, voice of Kaguya]. I’m happy to be involved in a series I watched as a child, but at the same time, I feel a sense of pressure. Kaguya was a terrifying figure to me back then, and I vividly remember the scene where the girl turns into an older woman. I’d like to know if I can deliver such a shocking performance. I know it will be a struggle, but I’ll do my best! [Uchiyama Kouki, voice of Tsukikage] I participated in the dubbing while keeping in mind the character’s image as portrayed in the original work. I joined the cast midway through the story, but the staff and cast members were so welcoming, so I was able to work freely. Please enjoy the anime “Shin Samurai Den YAIBA”!
