by A project to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime Captain Earth has been launched. Fumi Mikanagi, the original character designer, has released a new illustration, and a Blu-ray Box has also been decided.
“Captain Earth” is an original robot anime based on Bones’ original work. The story is set in Tanegashima and depicts the battle between four boys and girls, centered around the main character, Daichi Manatsu, and an enemy from space called “Quilting.” Daichi and his friends’ youth drama unfolds along with full-scale robot action. They were starring Miyu Irino as Daichi Manatsu, Hiroshi Kamiya, Ai Kayano, Rina Hidaka, and others. Directed by Takuya Igarashi and series composition by Yoji Enokido, the series was broadcast in 2014 with 25 episodes.
The new illustration by Fumi Mikanagi shows Daichi, Teppei, Hana, and Akari celebrating the 10th anniversary with balloons and crackers. The Captain Earth Memorial Blu-ray Box will be released on January 29, 2025. It will have a newly drawn jacket design and a new booklet. A special broadcast will also be held on Animax. All 25 episodes will be broadcast once over two days, September 15th and 16th. They will also be available to stream on YouTube.
