Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge. Shueisha’s “Jump Comics” published the manga in 23 volumes and has a total circulation of over 150 million copies. The story depicts the young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was killed by demons, joining the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human and throwing himself into fighting demons.
The sad story of humans and demons, terrifying swordplay, and occasional comical scenes have made it popular. The anime, produced by Ufotable, has been developing since April 2019 with “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—Tanjiro Kamado’s Unwavering Resolve Arc.”
After the final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Pillar Training Arc aired in May 2024, it was announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc would be produced as a trilogy. It has now been announced that the first chapter of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc will be released on July 18, 2025. It has also been decided that the film will be released on the first day in IMAX, and it has been announced that it will be the most significant theatrical release in Japan with 443 theaters nationwide (390 regular theaters + 53 IMAX theaters), exceeding the “Mugen Train Arc” released in 2020.
It will also be screened in more than 150 countries and regions worldwide. Starting with the domestic release, the film will be expanded beyond the two previous domestic and international theater “World Tour Screenings.” Along with the announcement, a key visual was also unveiled, foreshadowing the beginning of the Mugen Castle battle. It depicts Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps with the demons against the backdrop of the endless Mugen Castle. Finally, the final battle begins.
The “Group Visual Ver.” Mubichike advance ticket, which uses this key visual, will be available from March 7. Also, from April 4, seven additional Mubichike designs with different character combinations will be released. Including the “Group Visual Ver.” eight Mubichikes and a “Special Set” with a unique mount will be sold. All of them will be released in limited quantities, so fans should not miss out.
