The making-of video for the full-CG short animated film Candy, produced by Toei Animation, has been released.
Based on the work of Korean picture book author Baek Hina, “Candy” is a story that begins when a boy named Dong-dong, who is not good at communicating, obtains a mysterious candy that can hear the voices of people’s hearts.
The making-of video features Baek Hina, director Nishio Daisuke, producer Washio Ten, and animation producer Nishikawa Kazuhiro. Through interviews, they explain the storyboards, art settings, character settings, etc., of “Candy.” Materials that can only be seen in this video will also be introduced.
The official website has also been opened. “Candy” has been selected as one of the 15 works on the short animation list for the 97th Academy Awards. At the 97th Academy Awards, the final nominees will be voted by Academy members who have watched all 15 films. The nominees will be announced on January 23rd, and the awards ceremony will be held on March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, USA. “Magic Candies”
