Based on the popular fantasy manga serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine,” the anime “The Seven Deadly Sins” series has been developed for about seven years since 2014.

The original manga completed in 20 years has been animated to the end. In “The Seven Deadly Sins: The Cursed by the Light” (released on July 2), the original story is drawn by the original author, Nakaba Suzuki, is the final TV animation.

The “beyond” of the chapter is drawn. Merida and his brother Zerudorisu play a Yuki Kaji, Elizabeth’s role heaven AmemiyaWe asked him about his long-term memories of the anime series and his thoughts on the movie version that will decorate the finale. (Interview / text / editorial department) What do you think of the anime “The Seven Deadly Sins” series? Kaji: It was my first experience to be involved in the work as a voice actor for the main character for such a long time, so I am grateful for the connection with this work. It was a blessed opportunity to feel the joy and difficulty of continuing to perform.

The last seven years, including sharing time with the cast and staff, as an actor and as a human being, facing the work with all my might, will be an irreplaceable asset for my life. I feel that it has become. Amemiya: At the time of the first TV series, I didn’t expect to do it for such a long time. After that, the original was completed, and it was animated to the end, and I feel that I am grateful that I could play Elizabeth to the end. It feels like you’ve been shown the world through Elizabeth’s eyes for the number of years you’ve played. Because she has an entirely different personality from herself, she sees and feels the world, so I know that she has this kind of perspective and feeling, and I studied various emotions as a voice actor.

What is the difference between Elizabeth and your personality? Amemiya: Elizabeth fights to save everyone, but I wonder if I would fight to defeat her opponent. (laughs). Kaji: That’s quite different (laughs). Amemiya: I don’t have as much capacity as Elizabeth, and I’m probably childish (laughs).

I think it’s not like Elizabeth at all because I’m the one who expresses my feelings, and I’m the type who has lived with the help of the embracing power of the people around me. I can’t sympathize with her words and actions because she feels and expresses things differently. Still, I’ve always wanted to understand her. for that reason, I was facing dubbing while reading the script and the original many times. ――Please tell us if there are any unique events in the recording so far. Kaji: Nowadays, it has become difficult due to the influence of Corona, but until then, it’s almost like a “festival” every year. An event with an atmosphere like that was also held, and it is new to remember that we, the cast, were all excited with the visitors.

The characters that appear in “The Seven Deadly Sins” all have strong personalities, but I think that all the members who are in charge of voices have strong personalities linked to that (laughs). While respecting each other, the dubbing was done with a lovely atmosphere. Before the corona sickness, we all went out to eat every week after dubbing. Amemiya: You went. Kaji: The leader at the drinking party was Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who played the role of Van. Van and Tatsuhisa look precisely like that! A big brother who likes alcohol is kind and takes good care of his friends. I think more parts are more valuable than anyone else. I miss Tatsuhisa-san, the staff, and the cast all going out for a drink. Amemiya: When the TV series started, I was a newcomer, and I was wondering if I could go to a drinking party, but Tatsuhisa-san said, “If you want to go, let’s go.” After that, it was a great memory that we all got together and started drinking.

I think the dubbing site of “The Seven Deadly Sins” is like a class. Kaji: Is a class a school? Amemiya: Yes, it’s like a school class. The sound director is the teacher, and each of us, our classmates with solid individuality, talks freely, and the teacher says, “It’s about time to start,” and dubbing begins. I think it was a fun place where everyone was friendly and sometimes playful, and in a good way, there was something like childishness. Kaji: Certainly, it was a lively and fun scene like the “Pig Hattie” in the works.

In this movie version, “further ahead” of the final chapter of the TV series will be drawn. How did you feel when you learned about making the movie version? Kaji: First of all, as an anime, I was allowed to play Meliodas until the end of the original story. Anyway, I was happy. In addition, I heard that the movie version would be produced again at about the exact timing as the animation of the final chapter … The joy was doubled! When I read the movie version of the script, I felt that “the atmosphere of” the deadly sins “at the beginning of the story has returned!” The friendly and lively atmosphere is also an indispensable element for the “Seven Deadly Sins,” so I was happy to feel that. Then … Meliodas and Zeldris have conflicted with each other, even though they have passed each other.

I was deeply moved to see these two brothers fighting together. It was delicious. At the same time, there are many lines of Meliodas and Zeldris in the script … It was the first time for me to multiply the amount so far between my roles, so it was pretty tricky ( Lol). Two functions for each person, which is a precious experience in my life as a voice actor. It wasn’t easy, but above all, thank you … and it was fun! I am pleased to be able to conclude the “Seven Deadly Sins” with this work. Amemiya: When I heard that I would do the movie version, I first said, “I hope Elizabeth has a lot of turns this time” (laughs). Kaji: In the previous movie version, there weren’t many turns because of the story. Amemiya: That’s right. When I read this script, Elizabeth often came into play, and I was happy that there were many scenes I wanted to see.

A set of the Supreme God and Elizabeth was not drawn in the original, and I thought it was the first time to play Elizabeth, who was so excited from the bottom of my heart. Elizabeth seems to be having a little fun in the atmosphere that the battle may start in the movie version of the story, with all the hearts finally taken away (laughs). Kaji: That might be the case (laughs). Amemiya: Eliza, who was with Meliodas and thought that the promised future with him would be happy and irresistible. I was pleased to feel Beth’s feelings. Would you mind telling us the points of interest in the movie version? Kaji: First of all, the deadly sins fans! Thank you so much for watching the original & TV series to the end! Following that, I am pleased that the movie version of the original story drawn by Professor Nakaba Suzuki will be released.

The original was complemented by the existence and supreme god that fans of the original would have been interested in for a long time, and even Dahlia and Dubs, who had never had a chance to appear before. It’s an episode. I think the points of interest are:

The joint battle between Meliodas and Zeriodas.
The love between Meliodas and Elizabeth.
The love between Zeldris and Gerda.

In particular, there is a scene where Elizabeth gently speaks to Meliodas, who feels a little guilty about her relationship with Zeldris. Ten-chan, who has played Elizabeth for about seven and a half years, is unique in that line. I’m so full of love. I was surprised to hear it on the spot.

Please enjoy the last “Seven Deadly Sins” while paying attention to such details as well as the drama! Amemiya: I’m grateful that I played Elizabeth from start to finish for over seven years. As I said initially, I think that it is the movie version that is full of Elizabeth that I can do now because I walked with Elizabeth, a child with the opposite personality. The point of interest is the interaction with the Supreme God that I have always wanted to see. And while Elizabeth’s mother is the Supreme God, I hope you’ll also pay attention to her interaction with Elizabeth, her father, King of the Kingdom of Lioness, and Elizabeth. It’s not a flashy scene, but I like the relationship between Elizabeth and her parents. Deadly sins fans! Thank you so much for watching the original & TV series to the end!
