by At the symposium, it was discussed that the editorial bureau of Hokkoku Shimbun, a sister newspaper of Toyama Shimbun, is one of the setting models for P.A. Works’ latest animated film, “Welcome to Komada Distillery.”
The movie tells the story of a female manager who struggles to revive a whiskey distillery and a novice reporter for a news site, and the reporter’s workplace is based on the Hokkoku Shimbun editorial department.
Mr. Soma talked about his experience of location scouting for the Hokkoku Shimbun newspaper, saying, “There’s a lot to be gained by actually seeing it,” and said that by visiting the site, he was able to create a realistic atmosphere.
