From the protagonists who become the faces of the series to supporting cast members and guest stars who make limited appearances but still exude individuality, the series features a diverse cast.
So, Anime! Conducted a reader survey titled, “Which female character did you fall in love with at first sight in the Fall 2025 anime?” We received 150 responses from November 8th to November 15th. The gender ratio was approximately 40% male and 60% female, with a slight female preponderance. Approximately 30% were under 19 years old, and approximately 20% each were in their 20s and 40s.
This article will reveal the results for the female characters. Strong and cute heroines dominate the top spots! Taking the top spot were Kagura from “Gintama: Class 3-Z Ginpachi Sensei” and Scarlett L. Vandimion from “May I Make One Last Request?”, who tied for first place with approximately 7% of the votes. Kagura from “Gintama: Class 3-Z Ginpachi Sensei” is a student in Class 3-Z and a foreign student with a voracious appetite. Readers praised her school-themed outfits, saying, “In ‘Gintama,’ she wore Chinese clothing, but in ‘Ginpachi Sensei,’ she wears a red tracksuit over her sailor uniform. She even wears those bottle-bottom glasses, but it can’t be helped, she’s so cute!” Her gluttony, which is just as appealing as the original, was also well-received, with readers saying, “I’m so jealous that she can binge eat rice straight from the rice cooker and not get fat!” The story of “May I Make One Last Request?” begins when the protagonist, Scarlett, is forced to break off her engagement for an unreasonable reason. Readers commented on her thrilling performance, saying things like, “I was thrilled by the contrast between her cute princess face and her violent side,” and “I admire her personality, which loves beating up bad guys. It’s so satisfying to see her punish the evil nobleman with a fist at the end.”
Third place went to Akane Tendo from “Ranma 1/2.” She was only a hair behind the top. Akane Tendo is the third daughter of the Tendo family and is engaged to Saotome Ranma by her parents. Some readers expressed interest in her romance with the protagonist, saying, “I love how she’s strong and kind, yet also jealous and clumsy. I also love how she rushes to Ranma’s aid without thinking about herself when he’s in trouble.” Others expressed concern about her love life with the protagonist, saying, “She may look like a pure girl with long black hair, but she has excellent fighting skills. Since she cut her hair short, she’s been able to show her innocent side, and it’s so cute to see her develop feelings for Ranma!” Shampoo also tied for sixth place. “I love her devilish personality, and she’s cute when she transforms into a cat,” one commenter said.
Furthermore, in 11th place is Saotome Ranma, who has transformed into a woman. Here are some other comments! Regarding Anastasia Dei Ergea Obelia from “The Story of How I Became a Princess,” one commenter said, “I was drawn to Artie’s sparkling jewel eyes, voice, and expressions. Her relationship with her father, Claude, isn’t great, but it’s nice to see how her affection gradually develops.” Regarding Iana Magnolia from “The Dark History of a Reincarnated Villainess,” one commenter said, “The protagonist is reincarnated as the villain from her own novel, written with a full-blown chuunibyou mentality.
I fell in love with her struggle to avoid the assassination route.” Regarding Marie from “Clockwork Marie,” one commenter said, “If it were discovered that she was human, she would be executed immediately, so it’s interesting to see her desperately trying to become an android. It’s admirable that even though she feels guilty about deceiving her master, Arthur, she is genuine in her love for him.”
“Kashiwada-san, who doesn’t show it on her face, and Ota-kun, who always does.” Kashiwada-san was voted for as a diverse group of heroines, with comments like “She has a blank expression, and you never know what she’s thinking, but she speaks so directly that she often makes Ota-kun embarrassed. She also has some cute aspects, like the fact that she’s not good at horror movies.” In this survey, heroines with a gap or unexpected side were popular. The surprise and joy of discovering an unexpected side of a heroine may make them even more appealing.
