The group BTS was nominated for two years in a row at the ‘BRIT Awards,’ the UK’s most prestigious popular music awards ceremony. Fierce competition for trophies is expected with ABBA, a comeback with a new album after 40 years, and Silk Sonic, a group with Bruno Mars and Anderson Pak.

According to the official website of the Brit Awards on the 19th, BTS was nominated for the international group category. The awards ceremony will be held on February 8, 2022 (local time), at the O2 Arena in London, England.

This is the second time BTS has been nominated for the Brit Awards. At the last ‘2021 Brit Awards’, he was the first Korean singer nominated for an international group category but failed to win. At the awards ceremony held in May, the trophy for the international group went to the American trio sister band, Haim.

The Brit Awards started in 1977, is an awards ceremony hosted by the British Record Industry Association. The nominees for the award are selected through a panel vote made up of radio and TV DJs and hosts, broadcasting company executives, record producers representatives, and journalists.

Since the late 1980s, an international section has been established to award artists active in various countries.
