‘Collaboration of K-pop and Saudi pop (S-Pop)’
Lee Soo-man, the executive producer of SM Entertainment, is attracting attention as he meets with key government officials, including the Saudi Arabian Minister of Culture, one after another to discuss cultural cooperation measures.
According to SM Entertainment, on the 12th, executive producer Lee Soo-man met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture, Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan al-Saud, at the headquarters in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, on the 8th to discuss cultural cooperation.
This is already the second meeting with Saudi Arabia. Previously, Executive Producer Lee visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on March 23-24, and met with key government officials, including Haifa Bint Mohammed Al Saud, Princess of Saudi Arabia and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Faisal Al Ibrahim, Minister of Strategy and Finance, and Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, Vice Minister of Culture, and meeting with local young people. We discussed ways to build a metaverse city with an entertainment business that people can enjoy.
This time, we met at the SM office and talked actively. In particular, we exchanged various stories about the holding of ‘SMTOWN LIVE,’ a global brand concert of SM Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, collaboration with Saudi Arabian producers for video content production, and music performance venues.
Singer Boa also attended the event. BoA has been working as a non-registered director of SM Entertainment since 2014.
Executive Producer Lee Soo-man said, “I look forward to finding ways to collaborate to produce Saudi Arabia’s talented people into global stars by using the CT (Culture Technology) system I built to produce S-Pop. “I want to contribute to building a music ecosystem that Saudi Arabian young people can enjoy,” he said. Minister Bader welcomed this.
