Naver announced on the 6th that it will launch ‘NOW. Drops’, an NFT (non-fungible token) service based on the internet broadcasting ‘Naver Now’ in cooperation with Line Next.

Nowrops is based on Line Next’s NFT Platform City (DOSI). NFTs will showcase NFTs using unpublished content such as performances by each member and behind-the-scenes videos, focusing on K-pop idols, the main content of Naver Now.

NFTs within the platform can be issued through ‘crystals’ based on the LINE blockchain. Users can obtain crystals through airdrop (gift of virtual assets) events or purchases.

Now Drops’ first NFT is based on the new girl group NMIXX, launched by JYP Entertainment in February this year. Nmix is preparing for a comeback showcase on the 19th. The Now Drops site accepts applications to participate in the airdrop event until the 12th, and 1000 crystals will be presented through a lottery.

LINE is a joint venture between Naver and Softbank, a Japanese telecommunications company. The national messenger service of the same name used by 92 million people in Japan alone is in service, and a business through its blockchain is also being promoted. The LINE blockchain-based cryptocurrency Link (LN) can currently be traded on Bithumb and MEXC.

Jinhwan Gong, the head of Naver Now service, said, “Through Now, we have secured a differentiated entertainment IP through original content.
