On the 16th, the prefecture started a mobile stamp rally project tied up with the popular anime “Yowamushi Pedal” about a bicycle road race at the cycling course “Wakayama 800” of about 800 kilometers in the prefecture. Until December 31st.
“Yowamushi Pedal” is an anime about high school students in the cycling club who struggle to win the Inter-High School Championship. It has gained support not only from bicycle enthusiasts but also from a wide range of generations. A similar project in 2019 was well received, so the second tie-up was realized.
You can get stamps by registering on the official website with your smartphone and scanning the QR codes installed at five locations, including Daimon (Koya Town) on the course and JR Kisei Line Inami Station (Inami Town). At each point, you can take a commemorative photo with the characters on the screen. Furthermore, this time, an original story is prepared for each point, and you can enjoy the interaction between the characters.
If you visit all five locations, you can apply for a lottery to win limited goods such as acrylic stands and coasters. A person in charge of the prefectural tourism promotion division said, “We are also preparing a mechanism that will make fans happy. We hope that you will enjoy cycling in the prefecture on this occasion.
