‘Dandadan’ Shion Wakayama receives TVer Award 2024 Special Anime Award: ‘This is a work I created with all my heart and soul.’

On the 5th, Osaka-based Mainichi Broadcasting System announced a comment from Shion Wakayama, the voice actress who played the lead role of Momo Ayase, following the award of the TVer Awards 2024 Special Award to the anime ” Dandadan,” produced by the station.

The award was established in March 2021 to honor programs loved by many users and that have contributed to TVer’s development. The selection is open to all programs distributed on Tver between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year, and programs in each category are awarded based on the total number of views throughout the year.

The anime Dandadan won the “Anime Special Award” for being the number one new anime program broadcast or distributed in 2024. In response to this award, Wakayama expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much for selecting the TV anime Dandadan for the Anime Special Award at the TVer Awards 2024. I am thrilled that this work, which was created with the soul of both the staff and cast, can be viewed so much through TVer.”

Regarding TV, she said, “I often use it when I’m traveling or at home because I can watch programs I missed for free.” She said, “Please be sure to watch the second season, which starts in July 2025, on TV, too!” The network commented that they would be streaming episodes 1 to 12 of “Dandadan” to commemorate the award for a limited time.
