The eight female dance crews representing Korea will compete for the best spot.
At the Mnet’ Street Woman Fighter’ production presentation held online on the morning of the 24th, MC Kang Daniel, ‘Fight Judge’ BoA and Taeyong, performance directors Sang-Hoon Hwang, and eight crew hooks, Lachika, Hollybang, Coca N Butter, Proudman, Leaders of Waybee, Want, and YGX, as well as CP Kwon Young-chan and Choi Jeong-Nam PD, attended and talked.
‘Street Woman Fighter’ is a simple survival program of female dance crews presented for the first time by Mnet and eight female dance crews representing Korea (Hook, Lachika, Holly Bang, Coca N Butter, Proudman, Wavy, Want, YGX). ) will appear and wage war without concessions to become the best global K-dance crew.
CP Kwon Young-chan said, “There is a lot of survival shows that sing, but since this is a program that only sees the game through dance, I think it will be a fresh survival format because there are so many things to see.” As I was losing, I thought that K-pop dance was at the center of it. I wanted to show the dance crews who make K-pop choreography, so I naturally paid attention to the street dance genre. “I came up with a name,” he explained.
PD Choi Jeong-Nam, who directed various dance programs such as ‘Dancing 9’, ‘Hit the Stage,’ and ‘Somebody,’ said, “It’s a pity that K-pop artists, as well as those who made the choreography, are not lit in a situation where K-pop is globally popular. “I was able to oversee the female dancers. What I felt while preparing for this program was that it would be good if the dancers could also have fans.”
Daniel Kang was selected as the MC for ‘Street Woman Fighter,’ and the judges are BoA, NCT’s Taeyong, and performance director Hwang Sang-hoon, adding to the anticipation.
BoA said, “I’ve been on various audition programs, and I think it’s by far the scariest survival show ever. It seems to be a show where you can easily understand what spicy tastes like.” “The title is ‘Street Woman Fighter,’ but the dance is the body. “I think it’s a movie that talks and subdues the opponent, but dancers who are considered to be the best in Korea have gathered. I think it will be a program that can convey information about being able to perform such a dance like this for those who are interested in a variety of things to see,” he said.
Taeyong said, “When I heard that I was going to appear, it was so much better to create a fandom of the crew than the criteria for the judgment. Isn’t it a gathering of the best dancers in Korea? We are also preparing for the stage a lot. I think it was an opportunity for my enthusiasm to burn,” he said.
When asked about the judging criteria, Hwang Sang-hoon replied, “I looked at performance perfection and individual skills and techniques, but the most important thing was to focus on the energy of how much you make the stage your own.”
Kang Daniel, who took charge of the MC, said, “The tension and excitement intersect. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen battles and performance competitions in the street scene because of the timing. This time, doing this program, I was able to see perfect stages, so it gave me a new stimulus. I am grateful to those who gave me the opportunity. I think I will learn a lot while doing the program. I will try my best to be a guide.”
In particular, the part that makes ‘Street Woman Fighter’ is expected is that eight teams, including Hook, Lachika, Holly Bang, Coca N Butter, Proudman, Weibe, Want, and YGX, the representative female dance crews of Korea, will be on the show.
PD Choi said, “I paid the most attention to recruiting the crew. I tried hard to recruit a dance crew who was called the best. I want to say thank you for appearing on the program. The dancers move rather than the flashy and fast cameras of music shows when it comes to dance-related directing. I’m trying to make a video that focuses on full shots that can be seen.” He said, “The tension between the dancers can be sensitive, but after the results come out, there is an atmosphere where they agree and respect, so it’s a part where you can feel the sportsmanship of the dancers. There will be,” he said.
The crew’s leaders said, “There was a program for dancers, so there was no reason not to participate. I was grateful and happy, and I was confident that I would do well. As the coronavirus got longer, there were restrictions on dancing while I was active, so I had internal complaints. It seems to be a direction to release it. We wanted to publicize our team. We didn’t have many opportunities to show our colors, so I wanted to show that.”
Finally, Daniel Kang raised expectations, saying, “I don’t think any further explanation is necessary. I think you’ll be able to see a lot of stages that contain each of their philosophies about dance. No matter what you expect, you’ll be able to see more.”.
