The ‘Changwon K-POP World Festival’ is a Hallyu culture festival where people worldwide who love K-pop participate and compete for performance and vocal skills.
This year, due to the global epidemic of Corona 19, overseas K-pop finalists were not allowed to enter Korea, so on the 15th, they were impressed by an online live broadcast format.
Ten teams, including the United States, Nigeria, and Laos, who succeeded in advancing to the finals by beating out prominent teams from 74 countries, presented a unique performance stage that had never been seen before with the sights of each country in the background.
This year, paying attention to the good influence of K-pop, under the title ‘HOW K-POP SAVED ME (How K-Pop Saved Me),’ we prepared a corner introducing the daily lives of overseas performers that have changed to K-Pop, conveying the worldwide enthusiasm for K-Pop.
In the overseas fan final contest, the Lao team won the Best Performance award. The Nigeria team won the Story award. The Canada, Austria, Laos, Belarus, and France teams took the top 5 through advance voting, real-time popularity voting, and expert evaluation.
The ten teams watched the judging results through video connections throughout the live broadcast with pounding hearts, and when the final winning team was decided, cheers and tears crossed.
The host of the day was actress Yoo In-na. A wealth of performances by K-pop stars such as MONSTA X, The Boyz, Stray Kids, Oh My Girl, ATEEZ, Espa, Ones, and GRAVITY were also prepared. The outdoor stage of Changwon and Korea’s landmarks, which is different from the previous ones, conveyed the beauty of Changwon and Korea to K-pop fans around the world.
In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Changwon K-POP World Festival, the city also held a congratulatory comment event during an online live broadcast.
