ClariS, who released the OP theme song “ALIVE” for the anime “Lycoris Recoil” in August and showed a new charm with the upper music and intense dance, performed concerts in Tokyo and Kanagawa on September 14th—released the ED theme song “Masquerade” for the anime “Shadow House 2nd Season”. Dreams~” also featured “ALIVE.” It’s been a long time since you last toured. How was it? Clara: Since it was our first tour in about three years, we were very enthusiastic, and it was a lot of fun to spend time with the fans after a long time. We were able to receive everyone’s warmth and feelings of waiting, and we were delighted because we had always wanted to deliver the song directly as soon as possible.

We received from the fans the energy to work even harder in the future, and I believe the concert was a step up for ClariS. With the release of “ALIVE” and the show and the release of “Masquerade” coming up this month, I think we were able to have “summer of ClariS.” I have a concert scheduled for winter, so I hope to continue to make this feeling bigger and create even more beautiful things. Karen: It’s been a long time since I’ve been waiting to see you all, so it hasn’t been that long since the concert ended, but it feels like a lot of time has passed.

I was thrilled to meet all of you who have been waiting for me for so long. In addition to concerts, there are releases, and we have promises to meet again next time. It’s been a long time, so I’m happy. The most important feeling was that we were finally able to come back. With the release of “Masquerade” coming up, we would like to continue to deliver our thoughts and feelings of gratitude.

The two of you usually live in Hokkaido, but it was hot in Tokyo and Kanagawa. Karen: It was so hot. I was surprised. The day we came to Tokyo, the temperature wasn’t that different from Hokkaido, and the two said, “I’m glad it was comfortable this time.” I was talking about it in, but the next day I felt “Tokyo’s seriousness” (laughs), and the heat almost overwhelmed me. Did you eat something that gives you stamina, such as preventing summer fatigue? Clara: We’ve always “I want to eat Jojoen’s yakiniku bento.”

The staff remembered that, and on the day I came to Tokyo, Jojoen’s yakiniku bento was served, and I was excited. Karen: Yeah. It was so delicious! Your ability to read facial expressions under a mask is more sensitive than others.

How did you feel about the audience’s reaction when you performed live? Clara: It’s a situation where I can’t speak out yet due to the corona crisis, so I stood on the stage feeling a little uneasy, “What will happen?” For example, some people wrote “Welcome back!” in their sketchbooks and held them up. Karen: I thought you would feel lonely not being able to hear everyone’s voices, but the applause was terrific, and they waved their penlights along with our movements. I felt like I could listen to the calls he had made to me at previous concerts, even without a voice. That’s part of why we felt lonely and wanted to see each other the whole time we couldn’t meet. At that time, the sense of unity in the venue was terrific, and I felt like “Clari’s fans are amazing.”
