In the second episode of the anime’ Jujutsu Kaisen ‘, Gojo’s overpowering of the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna (CV: Junichi Suwabe ), left fans in a state of speechlessness, with comments such as ‘He was so cool I was left speechless’ and ‘I can see why Gojo Satoru is so popular’ echoing in the fandom.
The anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” is based on the manga of the same name by Akutami Gege, which has sold over 90 million copies in total and depicts the battle between “curses” born from negative human emotions and sorcerers who exorcise them with sorcery.
The story begins when Itadori Yuji (CV: Enoki Junya ), who ends up sharing a body with the king of curses, “Ryoumen Sukuna,” transfers to “Jujutsu Technical College,” an institution specializing in anti-curse treatment. When the first season of the TV anime aired in October 2020, it caused a great response in Japan and worldwide.
The second season of the anime, which aired from July to December 2023, depicted the story of Gojo Satoru and the worst sorcerer, Geto Suguru (CV: Sakurai Takahiro)’s time at technical college, “Kaitama/Gyoku Ore,” and the story of the timeline that continues from the first season, “Shibuya Incident.” The sequel’s production, “Shimetsu Kaiyuu,” has already been decided.
Gojo is the most popular character in the series and the strongest sorcerer, as acknowledged by himself and others. His laid-back personality often leads people around him to mess around. In episode 2, he appears late when Megumi Fushiguro (voiced by Yuuma Uchida ), tasked with retrieving “Ryoumen Sukuna’s finger,” is in big trouble. Still, this was because he had bought some souvenir sweets on the way.
After learning that Itadori had swallowed Sukuna’s finger and seeing Sukuna inside Itadori, Gojo asks Itadori if he can take Sukuna’s place. Itadori hesitates when Gojo tells him to “come back in 10 seconds,” but Gojo, ignoring his worries, says, “It’s okay. I’m the strongest.”
Gojo dodged Sukuna’s attack with blinding speed and said, “I’m in front of my students, so I’ll show off.” He then showed enough power to blow Sukuna away, overwhelming the
“King of Curses.”
