by Watakon, also known as My Happy Marriage, will release several new products using newly drawn illustrations based on “walking.” Watakon is a Japanese-style Cinderella story based on a novel by Akumi Aoki and illustrated by Tsukioka Tsukiho. It has been published since 2019 and has sold over 9 million copies as of September 2023.
As soon as the first season of the TV anime was broadcast from July to September 2023, the colorful and beautiful images, dramatic music, and realistic acting of the talented voice actors created a frenzy, and it was highly acclaimed in Japan and overseas. In the second season of the TV anime, which started in January 2025, Kinema Citrus will be producing the animation under the direction of Yudai Kubota, with the addition of director Masayuki Kojima, who will depict a more complex intertwining of human relationships and an intensifying battle of “supernatural powers.”
The conflict over the “thin blade blood” that flows through Miyo, a girl who has lost confidence due to being oppressed by her stepmothers, reaches a new stage, and her love with the lone elite soldier Kiyotaka is tested.
