Anime Tokyo Station (2-25-5 Minami-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku), an anime exhibition hub that utilizes Japanese anime content that has intense fans around the world, will open on October 31st. Before that, a ceremony was held on the 30th, attended by voice actress Mina Tominaga and Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike.
Tominaga, who is known for his role as Katsuo Isono in the anime “Sazae-san”, will serve as the MC for this day’s ceremony, and he will give the event’s closing greetings. At that time, Tokyo Governor Koike asked, “Mr. Tominaga, I have a request for you, but if you could do it in Katsuo-chan’s voice…”.
In response to the sudden request, Tominaga was embarrassed and replied, “With that, I would like to conclude the grand opening ceremony of “Anime Tokyo Station” (from now on referred to as Katsuo’s voice), and then Koike Miyako The audience, including the governor, applauded.
Furthermore, as Tokyo Governor Koike left the venue, Tominaga said, “This was Governor Koike’s closing address, so I will close it once more,” eliciting laughter and giving the closing address again in his normal voice.
The facility is a facility that many people can enjoy as a starting point into the world of anime, where travelers and others visiting Tokyo from all over the world gather and encounter past masterpieces and the latest famous works.
The first basement floor is the “Anime Production Process Exhibition” area, which introduces the anime production process by exhibiting valuable anime materials that are rarely seen, such as layouts, original drawings, scenarios, proposals, scripts, storyboards, and cell drawings. You can see anime materials such as”ASTRO BOY” displayed in the storage room through the glass, and the exhibits will change from time to time, including cell drawings and original drawings from 1990 to the first half of 2000. It has a collection of 50,000 items.
The first floor is the General Information Area, where visitors are welcomed by monuments made up of characters and famous scenes from 118 anime, ranging from nostalgic works to the latest popular anime. Works such as “Fruits Basket”, “Bakusou Kyoudai Let’s & Go!!”, “Detective Conan”, “Dragon Ball”, “Yu Yu Hakusho”, “Lycoris Recoil”, “Bleach”, and the “PreCure” series were confirmed.
The second floor is the ” “Special Exhibition/Store” where, as a limited-time project, exhibits such as figures and games of ”NARUTO” will be held so that you can experience the world view firsthand.
The main exhibits include a video screening related to the 20th anniversary of the anime, a figure display based on the ”NARUTOP99” popularity vote by Naruto fans around the world, and an experience corner for the ninjutsu “Rasengan” that appears in games and anime.
